Greetings
From District C,
Our city has experienced significant challenges over the last
two years. While District C was not as devastated as other
areas of the city, our residents have struggled to move forward
toward recovery.
I am encouraged by the significant progress that has been
made in our neighborhoods-many projects are in either the
planning or implementationstages all across the district.
Most importantly, these projects are being developed in
cooperation with the District C community, with the goal
of creating opportunities that will make New Orleans stronger.
District C has played a lead role in criminal justice reform
and is committed to a safe city by approaching crime prevention
from a holistic perspective. A fully functional criminal
justice system is essential, but we must also ensure that
all of our citizens have access to the resources necessary
for success-quality education, jobs, recreational opportunities
and social services.
We still have many challenges ahead-I will continue fighting
for quality of life issues, better schools, and recreational
opportunities for young people and substantive economic
opportunity.
I am committed to serving the citizens of District C and
to making New Orleans be as great as I know it can be, and
I encourage all of you to join me in making the city of
our dreams become a reality.
